High-quality, climate-resilient bridging infrastructure goes to Scotland
Mabey Bridge is pleased to announce it is the Gold Sponsor of Bridges Scotland taking place this week in Glasgow. Co-located with Road Expo Scotland, the annual event is attended by leaders from local and central governments involved in roads, bridges and infrastructure projects and showcases best practice and innovation in bridge design and engineering, with a focus this year on sustainability and Net Zero.
Mabey Bridge has a long history of successful projects in Scotland with permanent and temporary installations delivered throughout the country for a wide variety of applications. Our high-quality modular structures are particularly well-suited to projects in remote locations as they are easily delivered to the most isolated areas and rapidly assembled by hand or with light plant, with no requirement for field cutting or welding.
Fabricated from high-strength recyclable steel, Mabey Bridge’s solutions are hot-dip zinc galvanised for enhanced structural longevity. Speed of installation along with the reduced equipment required to construct one of our modular bridges also means less impact to the build environment. In the case of clear-span structures – which are now available off the shelf from Mabey Bridge in lengths of up to 100 metres – there is no need for intermediate piers, resulting in less construction in the water. This reduces obstruction to water flow, less accumulation of debris, minimised risk of scour or collisions with vessels or ice, and consequently, less disruption or damage to aquatic habitats and the local ecology.
Scotland is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2045, instigating a rapid transformation across all sectors of its economy, including infrastructure and construction.
